I grew up on this game series and anime. If I had a NetNavi, it would be an Aqua-type called ClimateMan.EXE
So having played all the BN games, I really really loved the AquaShield style from MMBN3 and Aqua/Spoutsoul/cross from MMBN4 and MMBN6. I loved the artwork and design and always wished as a kid I could have an aqua-inspired netnavi (which is why he looks so much like base Megaman). The more I fleshed out this idea, and the more I used the A letter folder in MMBN, I realized I could thematically diversify him.
Abilities
Climate Change: ClimateMan’s ability allows him to sacrifice an elemental chip to change the field type once per battle.
Fire – Magma/Lava or Volcano depending on circumstances
Aqua – Ice or Sea depending on the circumstances
Wood – Grass or Swamp depending on the circumstances.
Panel Breaker / Break – Sand or Pitfall/Quicksand depending on the circumstances
Forecast: ClimateMan’s ability (tap B) allows him to alternate his primary charge attack (Holding B). If he successfully goes “full synchro” after countering an enemy attack, he enters Surge Mode which lasts until he is hit or he use his Surge Mode ability. He cannot use Forecast to change abilities if he is already in Surge Mode. He cannot enter Surge Mode while carrying battlechips. If battlechips are equipped while he is in Surge Mode, they are automatically depleted.
Aquashot: ClimateMan’s primary attack, an aqua attack that creates a bubbler effect one panel behind the target. Surge Mode – Aquaburst: 3×3 bubbler effect around the target. Functions similarly to the Bubbler/Bubble Spread Battlechips.
Dust Devil: ClimateMan creates a swirling typhoon two panels away that does continuous wind damage. Surge Mode – Tornado: The swirling typhoon travels forward in one line. Functions similarly to the viruses that drop the Typhoon/Hurricane/Twister Battlechips.
Discharge: ClimateMan sends out a slow moving electrical ball that travels forward and damages the first enemy it hits. Surge Mode – Ion Storm: Increased attack power and locks onto enemies. Functions similarly to the viruses that drop the Thunder Battlechip.
Flood: ClimateMan sends out 1 wave that travels forward in one row. Surge Mode – Tsunami: increases this attack to 3 waves that move forward on all 3 rows.
Pelting Rain: ClimateMan sends out one cloud that travels to the nearest enemy and then moves along each panel in the same column. Surge Mode – Deluge: The storm cloud covers an entire 2×2 area with its deluge and follows the nearest enemy.
Equipment/NaviCust
AquaArmor/Aqua-Style: ClimateMan heals half of all damage from aqua-type attacks but suffers 2x damage from Elec-type attacks.
Float Shoes: ClimateMan is unaffected by empty panels or environmental panels.
Sunflake Shield: ClimateMan’s right armshield can expand and mitigate non-breaking damage. If he is in Surge Mode, he has the ability to reflect attacks. My website: https://designkulprit.com
I loved this request and design and wanted to pair him up with Sonicada too since they’re both insect-themed! I tried to keep fidelity to the requester’s original (rad!) design and modified it based on the theme of defense so I provided him a left arm shield. I also made his armor similar to a Rollypolly/pillbug by having different, overlapping layers in his armor and cape that would allow him to fold up.
